yo? phillies, what's up with that?.......

cool zik [to groove to] http://www.discontinued.cx/Mixes/discontinued/discontinued20030728.html

We Went to an orioles/phillies game this early this afternoon, had great seats for a double header, to make up for the rained out  game last night. [My Husband, Brother in-law, My  Husband's Parents who are visiting , from Bim.]

My Husband was pulling for the Orioles, ...........and of course, I was suckered into placing my bet with my heart and rallied for the very inconstant playing Phillies, instead.  I lost the bet...

The Orioles decided to get lively today [rare...]
They  handed  the Philadelphia fans their bruised egos & bruised bums right back to them on a used greasy cheesesteak platter,  they really treated us like crumbled expired septa [transit] transpasses , this afternoon!  lol lol lol lol
C'est la vie! I guess I have to  get in the kitchen soon, whip up a batch of annotto choux pastry to make My King's reward  - Hot & spicy beef patties from scratch! I guess he was due for some! [i don't know who will win the blasted game this evening]  Update...I owe the Man big time, now! Phillies lost again. whoa?

Peace is the cessation of againstness,
If you want peace, stop fighting.
When you're not against yourself or others, you are at peace. Peace Be Still. ~nyao

lyrics - The Creator Has A Master Plan [one of my dad's absolute favorite tunes]

There was a time, when peace was on the earth,
And joy and happiness did reign and each man knew his worth.
In my heart how I yearn for that spirit's return
And I cry, as time flies,
Om, Om.There is a place where love forever shines
And rainbows are the shadows of a presence so divine
And the glow of that love lights the heavens above
And it's free, can't you see, come with me, The creator has a master plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator has a working plan,
peace and happiness for every man
The creator makes but one demand,
happiness through all the land

Last Dance is Best Dance

I remember years ago
when I'd come visit
while hanging out at the late night clubs

You would not dance with me?
but, I'd always feel and catch ~
your beautiful eyes watching
shyly and the thing  that used to get me
was the fact, that you're not really very shy, ordinarily..

as you stood somewhere on sidelines, drink in hand...

Not wanting to start beef with My Family or all of my Brothers,
Irk, Irritate or Alarm Your current roster or  jealous Lovers.....

You'd just smile as You'd watched me
Letting sweet opportunity & time  pass by..
while I,  aware- would  dance all night with another

You knew, I was a "good girl" and wasn't going home with
any dance partner...and wasn't one to bring strays back home to
My Granny, it's funny thinking about those time....

Sometimes now
When you come home from work

In Greeting, You grab me and start to dance slowly
holding me safe in your arms

I just close my eyes and follow your lead
body to body, heart to heart

I  know  and love the way you move

whether to ~  jazz, salsa, soca or steamy konpa's plogue'
hot timba, zouk, silence or even soothing rain......
I adore you , I'd dance with  you anywhere Man,

from crowded dancefloors, in jammed packed clubs
grass underfoot at open air festivals in parks,
to sensuous private moments in elevators
on the glass bottom dance floor of cruise
honeymoon's boat

whenever the mood takes hold of you
I know, You'll take hold of me
and We'll move as one, dancing triumphantly over adversities,
or  in life's  sweet celebrations.

poem

HOW YOU EXCITE ME   [i'm loving this one lately, peace ~nyao  somment ]

How you alarm me.
A foot, elbow, fist
Pounding my inner-belly
Like an eternal drum.

You lay head down in the world
Floating through the streets.
The midwife feels your small back.
She pokes you with a fetoscope
And you poke right back.

I feel you are lonely sometimes.
As alone as I feel sometimes waiting for you,
Waiting to hold you in my arms.

I feel you are lonely sometimes.
I speak and sing to you.
I open my mind to see you.

I am a globe, a walking world,
Imparting secrets to the unborn:
There is a blinding beauty in space
Where stars are born.
Hundreds of star clusters,
filled with more clusters,
Where galaxies are born.
I know you know this.

Bamboo blooms every 120 years.
And the cheetah is the fastest animal on earth.
But it cannot roar.
Sometimes it chirps like a bird!
I know you know this.

Today on the UpperEast Side
I cursed the White sandwich makers.
Who ignored me standing big and round,
Waiting to order, waiting to feed you.
I cursed the store and walked out.
I know you know this.

Oh baby, forgive my unpreparedness,
Forgive my madness.
Forgive my rage and fear that send shivers
Down your spine. Forgive the world I did not make.

As you pound a foot, elbow, fist.
Pounding my inner-belly
Like an eternal drum.

desert flower - mali

Here's a scan of new painting.
Bambara Girl (Mali)  brilliant colors 18 x 24  acrylic & gold leaf, copper leaf - much fun messing with all that stuff. I think, My Husband's running with this one.
[He wants to keep it, around] Men! He's very supportive, but? I just can't sell much when He's hoarding stuff, from the studio for the future. He's can't help it, He's a saver. That the Ying/Yang balance of marriage! I'll  really thank him someday...

I think, I like oils better, but working w/acrylic's not that bad...once you get the hang of it, it's a bit heavier than than oils, and dried rapid fast though..

It's a lovely  morning  ~ Off to make breakfast !

Way of the Water Hyacinth

Bobbing on the breeze blown waves
Bowing to the tide
Hyacinth rises & falls

Falling but not felled
by flotsam, twigs, leaves...
She ducks, bobs and weaves

Ducks, Ducks by the score
Jolting, quacking and more
She spins through......

Spinning swamped, slimed, sunk
She rises Resolute
Still crowned by petals

om mani padme hum

The Jewel in the lotus of the heart....
a reminder that inside all of us
there is a spark! [the jewel] of divinity.
Just as the lotus flowers grows in the bottom
of a muddy pond, pushing up through water until it eventually
breaks the surface and opens to the sun so that we can live
gloriously in the light. This gift is open to everyone, regardless
of background  or spiritual starting point.

The beautiful  watercolors of James Gayles

The Blues is an African American cultural expression rooted in celebration, struggle, and affirmation. It has not only been used to articulate a sense of pride, strength, and resilience in African Americans in the face of racism, discrimination, and violence, but it has served as the foundational musical form for many other genres, including jazz, rock & roll, and hip hop.
In recognition and exposure to the rich history of the blues, James Gayles will present an exhibition titled Blues Masters, which will feature paintings, drawings, and large digital prints highlighting Oakland Blues artists and the history of the blues in Oakland.

Or now, that a special part of me, will never
ever know or see you in the flesh..

I hold it in & don't speak on it,
swallowing it like bitter pill.....

you're really gone.

I try to suck it up, and be a big girl... be an adult
loving you, but acting like a stubborn pissed off little girl , too.

Life goes on...
I decided on shopping therapy
a cold day out,  but wrapped to the gills
I am in chic import store to lose my lost self

taking my time,
I know my husband will pick me
up in about an hour

mindlessly browsing all the finery, studying the detail,
listening to the funky piped in worldbeat  music
that's playing on their speakers

I am checking out a  mustard yellow and lapis blue
Moroccan vase when it
dawns on me....the old song has ended,

music sounds so familiar?  I know every change of beat....

drum sequence, guitar lick, piano interlude?........

straining ears to hear better
the new jazzy wordlbeat tune
through my scarf
I realize, one of your  old band's songs is  now playing?....

Damn?.....Ok Daddy... . this
blatant......ok, I get it.....I get it!
no coincidence here...

Time to make peace with
your sudden exit  and move past it?....ok. Got it.

I laugh so hard,  I almost drop the vase!
I know people think, I'm crazy
for bursting into laughter so suddenly
but they don't know My Father is trip!

Dead or Alive

aided by the ancestors, I'm sure
with the help of 3 other band member
that preceded your death,
You are actively  chastising me...

but I just smile enjoying the moment,
because I am hearing my Dad's music.
Iam basking in  one of Your Labors of Love,

I know I  am blessed.

It just confirms
a Father's love's never dies
even if you're  anxious, moody
or pissed off with his absence........
being abandoned by death

He will follow you into chic import stores on Rt. 2
and hover haunting you from semi hidden speakers
on cold winter mornings

to remind you that
A Father's love always remains.
It transcends time, and knows how to reach you!
