Your Great Nana's Eyes
[a different kind of love poem, for the other little man in my life!]
when i look at you
i see your maternal Great Nana's, bright, beautiful wise eyes
and i see your daddy's cute nose in miniature,
so much like his daddy's before him kinda nose....
when i look at you
i know the ancestors are watching over you just smiling,
beaming .....
They have your back already - you gotta know that!
Their wishes, wisdom & legacy pushing right on through....into the Future
- in the perfect form of a tiny, sleepy You.
When i look at look at you
i see my old fears, confronted faced and conquered.
My new fears, not so important... confidently, steadily being conquered
with Renewed Commitment and Vigor, by me. I owe You that.
I am vibing lately, solely on pure love for your Daddy & You
when i look at you, taking you all in visually,
i can see magnificent little grasping curious fingers
that will most definitely shape, feel & touch his
little world in most unique and special way
You are most clearly the Best of both of us
i feel extremely grateful & blessed when I see
you looking back, so intently at me.
